I really want to explore fretless bass, having heard some of the most beautiful playing and soloing on fretless, and just the tone of it too. The problem is there are no fret markers. I understand that electric fretless bass is probably seen as a modern heir to the upright bass, hence the lack of fret markers, but I'm still worried I would buy a fretless and then not be able to navigate due to the lack of markers. Can anyone help?
