Post Body

Hi!

My son has an electric guitar and has been having lessons for the last 6 months or so.

I'm just not seeing much progress. He learns riffs from various songs (only about 5-10 seconds) and then moves on to another riff. He's learnt power chords but doesn't seem to use them.

I'm not a guitar player so I don't know what progress I should be seeing, and admittedly he needs to practise more, but I feel he should be doing more than riffs using 1 string at a time (not that the riff is on one string, but that he doesn't play more than one string at a time).

Can anyone recommend a good book with some guitar tabs in that's aimed at beginners, ideally kids?

Thanks!
