There are a lot of new people with the launch of Strive, some new to fighting games altogether. If you are a beginner/intermediate level player and are looking to improve, a fantastic person (NOT ME - please thank them directly, their twitter is linked a few pages in) put together a resource document a while back that talks about a lot of general fighting game mechanics which include links to other articles that go over the topics in more depth.
Try giving this article a look through if you feel lost. Note that it's probably better to digest it in small pieces if you are just getting started. Focus on too many things and you might get overwhelmed/lost.
Also, Infilament (also not me - again please thank the creator) recently put up a fighting game glossary! It contains over 600 terms, many of which have video examples. It includes most (if not all) terms that you will probably see while learning Strive.
Good luck and have fun out there.
