Hi, theres kind of a million of these posts but maybe mine is a little bit different since I have my eye on a character and know what I want from a character as well.

Im about 15 hours into this game and loving it! Playing mostly Sin, Elphelt, and some Jack-O but i'm really feeling Jack-O a lot. I hit up forums / reddit and people are saying shes bad for newcomers, doesnt teach fundamentals, wont teach you how to play guilty gear but will only teach you how to play Jack-O instead.

How true is this stuff and how much does it matter? I'd like for my skills/mechanics/fundamentals to transfer between different characters that i play but is she just such an oddball that theres no crossover?

Im down with the concept of playing the character you like the most but I also dont want to mess up my learning of fundamentals bc to me thats the most important part.

Anyway sorry for the long post. Thanks for any help / guidance.
