Not because of the community or the rules. But, there was someone who used to play a character "Ingrid living" or Valcorie.
Last Friday, he passed away. He was my dad, and dad to a couple other grown children. But he would talk about how much fun it was to play this game, and the community that was there. He obviously enjoyed his last days of playing the game, since I'm told he played it quite often up until the point he couldn't really get up anymore.
So, for a 51 year old sick with cancer, you all gave him the opportunity to experience something powerful. You gave him the chance to forget the pain for a little while and become someone powerful. For that, thanks a lot. I'm grateful he had something to do when he would have otherwise just sitting in misery.
Keep doing what you're doing.
Edit: Thank you all so much for reaching out. I'd go through and respond to each comment but it's hard to look at them without feeling the sadness. I'm grateful to you all for sharing your time with both him and me... and I'll be better because of your comfort as I journey through this grief.
