Question on hacking. Do hackers use the in-game username and then guess the password?

Post Body

The hacking seems to have commenced recently and multiple users have been on this subreddit complaining of hacking. This seems to be the only way this might work to me: Let's say that my user-name is BigBear and I am playing the game. As I play, do other users see my name and then try to login as "BigBear" and use common passwords like 123456. Or is there something more insidious going on? Or can they see my toon name and then look up my account name?

My real account is under a character name that I had from the first GW and I do not have any characters/toons with the same name. Does this make me "hack-proof" under ANet's system?

As a MMO developer, this worries me.
