Since day 0 I started playing gw2 coming from the first one, cleared the campaign, the old dungeons, and farm a little bit and dropped it on the fractals release, but unrelated. Then I came again on Thorns but I did not even reach the end of the story. I did not farm masteries to unlock thingies and be able to pass.

As a gw1 fan, a Balthazar expansion was a must so jump in again. Enjoyed the story so far and then played every chapter onward. But I only played the story and only that. Never understood other activities. Loved the mounts, I dumped Griffin and Drake as they were hard.

Every new patch played for the story and I was enjoying that. And on the hype for the new expansion I want to get a little bit more involved with the game.

What I do in every mmo, starts with the basics: Every story quest: done Every class level max: done Every character has decent (exotic) gear and proper builds: Ongoing, 3 of them are full berserker. Every craft decent (first 400 all): have 3 only from the first month.

I’m stuck with farming skill points, the silver and gold enemies are too much. To get better gear I have to craft it. And for that, I need to gather and level up.

On the first days, I remember that there was a map where every day marked the daily node spawn, but I can’t find something like that. Moreover, I tried to google for gathering tips and I only find addon videos and very basic info. There are a lot of maps, compared then so I don’t know what to aim for.

A friend that used to play told me to jump newbie fractals to get something in the meantime, or strikes (only did the story mode ones) but I fear with my gear I’ll do nothing. But neither I can see any clear path to start improving my characters.
