Hello. I'm a newbie currently trying clear out the storylines while filling up my HoM for GW2. Since I'm actually interested in the game now, I tried looking up as to how to get the best out of my Heroes. Currently, I do not know how to get new skills for heroes that are not my class or how to get them their Elite Skills that are outside of my profession.

How do you get new skills for Heroes? Is it as simple as getting the drop-down menu and filling a secondary for them and they have all the skills unlocked or do I have to manually unlock all the other skills?

For Elite Skills outside my profession, how do I go about unlocking them? Do I have to unlock the other professions after I finish my character's expansion before I can capture the elite skills I am looking for for my Heroes?

I have read that PvP is another way but I currently do not want to step into PvP.
