I did a preliminary search on Google and the Guild Wars wiki but I thought I'd type it up here, just to get a better idea.
So I understand that attack skills work neigh-instantly when entering combat, but while in the middle of a crazy battle with my pet, I had some questions in my head (just got back to GW1 and needed a refresher):
When I trigger an attack skill, and I'm already attacking, does this mean my next available attack will become the skill? Or do I cast the skill instantly?
- And if does cast attack skill instantly, does it interrupt the current attack queue and take the place of standard attack? Or does it simply act as an extra attack in the middle of a queue that continues along?
What about Pets? Do Pet Attack Skills work the same way?
BONUS ROUND:
- If I have a skill, or a Pet Skill that adds damage, AND interrupts a spell being cast, would the best strategy be to spam that skill all time (because it's almost impossible to predict PvE spells being casted and match up with the cue) and just enjoy the interrupt when it happens; OR should I have the skill on standby and use it at the right time because attack skills are instant?
Any answers are appreciated
