I'm not sure this really fits here as it doesn't directly involve cultivation. Fits the mindset though (I think).
I live in a rural part of the UK. I do some guerilla gardening, but as development begins to spread I had another idea. There are a huge variety of birds in my area, large and small. But a number of trees have been felled, or are marked to be. And the changes to the way the hedges are cut will threaten the birds that nest in them. So I was planning to put up some bird houses.
I've seen some ideas for crochet bird nests, thought i might try that. Drab colours and natural fibres (probably wool) so they can be disguised in the hedges and trees.
Wondering if anyone else has tried this and might have some advice?
