By request of the King, I have created the Grundeswegian States Department.

With the recent division of our massive Empire into decentralised States and Territories, I have determined that each subdivision must have a Governor to rule it directly.

This is the map of our territories in the , , as well as Old Salisbury. Our cartographers will eventually map out our ,- territories in Northern Bulawayo, as well as Aytos.

• Bulawayo Territory

Capital: North Salisbury

Governor: mazznoff

The Bulawayo Territory is the only unorganised land we have. It spans swamps and snowy forests, and continues several kilometres north into the ,- and to an extreme hills biome. The annexation of the Boston settlement has cemented our total control from North Salisbury to Boston. The intention for Bulawayo is to be the last focus of development. It's entirely possible that Bulawayo may shrink over-time while New Salisbury expands into North Salisbury, or, once we've created enough settlements, Bulawayo may be partitioned into two or more states.

Statehood requirements: A residency for the Governor and a clear plan of development from the Governor.

• Drakensberg Territory

Capital: Torp

Governor: Killer_Chris

Drakensberg is currently the front-line in an undeclared war. The Torp rebellion has lead to shaky relations between Grundeswald and the LSIF. We will maintain our legitimate claims over the entire region. Military occupation is the only route we have to continued ownership. Once we crush the commies and exert the will of the King we can begin large-scale iron mining in our mountains.

Statehood requirements: A residency for the Governor and general stability. A treaty must be signed defining the limits of the territory.

• State of Fortytwo

Capital: 42

Lord Proprietor: kaiwren

The annexation of 42 was a brilliant moment in Grundeswegian diplomacy. We promised to maintain it in return for complete control of the territory. A good place for international trade. Its skyscrapers are an outlet for the various businesses under the wing of GrundesCorp.

• Gundagai Territory

Capital: Perdplaas (provisional)

Top Bloke: Greenkitten

The Gundagai region had not been defined for much of its existence. It was intended for farms and farms exclusively. It's entirely likely that Gundagai will never become a state. I offer no statehood requirements but do recommend that the Governor, whoever he may be, create a residence for himself just like the other territories.

• Helfontein Territory

Capital: Helfontein

Ministerpräsident: Metal

Helfontein was initially divided between Gundagai and Xia. After Xia was made a protectorate of Grundeswald, areas from it were ceded to Gundagai and after that, the area of Gundagai past the river became Helfontein. Currently, Helfontein is under direct control of GrundesCorp but I hope to see it become a bustling state. It is currently the main source of our economic growth and as such its Governor must be willing to sacrifice natural beauty for the benefit of the entire Kingdom. The Simonos island may wind up being its own state. My hope is that we find out who owned Simonos and Grensdorp.

• Istanbul Protectorate

Capital: Istanbul

Khanum: kovio

I'm not yet ready to declare Istanbul to be a state or a territory. We have not surveyed it in months and to my understanding the capital city has been co-opted by Communists who have renamed it Constantinople. Regardless, it is the sacred homeland of the Katars and as such it is our duty, as well as the King's will, to integrate it into our glorious Empire.

Statehood requirements: A residency for the Governor and a diplomatic mission to see if there are any locals there. We must establish a presence.

• Tengri Mountains Territory

Capital: Shlomont (provisional)

Governor: N/A (apply in-thread)

Our iron fountain. The quarry of the Kingdom. The natural shield of the Empire. This particular mountain range is under our total control and is not disputed with the LSIF. It was originally part of the Volkstaat, which went all the way to Torp. The main region of Volkstaat was however made its own state, which oddly enough contains the eponymous Tengri mountain. This territory was only mapped in its entirety recently and the village of Shlomont was discovered to be full of native Yevs.

Statehood requirements: A residency for the Governor and a settlement of some sort.

• State of Vrystaat

Capital: Salisbury

Governor: N/A (apply in-thread)

Our second home and the topic of many songs. A rail must be built connecting the two Salisburies. The Governor will be responsible for its completion and the construction of his residence.

• State of Volkstaat

Capital: New Salisbury

Governor: kovio

The beating heart of the Empire and both the figurative and literal centre of all things Grundeswegian. It can be considered the only Federally-owned state as the CEO of GrundesCorp is also the Governor of Volkstaat. The LSIF has been nosing around at Camp Katar and New Salisbury needs a serious city planner. Not much else to say about Volkstaat.

• Xia Protectorate

Capital: Xiamen

Prime Minister: Greenkitten

Xia has been a vassal of Grundeswald since its creation. Founded by Aytian refugees and funded by GrundesCorp donations, when its Emperor abdicated with no successor, Greenkitten was declared Emperor. I do not feel comfortable declaring this to be a state or territory of Grundeswald outright until its Emperor has a clear and concise plan for development.

If you are interested in becoming a Governor, say so in this thread. Be sure to say which state/territory you wish to oversee. Your rule in that region will be absolute and not subject to the wishes of GrundesCorp.
