Should I be farming gold, items, or runes? Wave 115,000

I asked some dude who has done a few million waves for advice, and he said a lot of things, among which were that items and runes are what matter late game (I am apparently still early game according to him though 🤷🏻‍♂️),

I am good enough that I can do the intermediate dungeon (the one before the hardest one) but it is slow and time consuming and I can do all dragons except the bone one, and I have 2 hero’s to level 10,000

So should I be farming gold so I can get more hero’s up to level 10,000 so I can do the bone dragon, hardest dungeon, and the middle dungeon faster

Or should I focus on runes and items?
