Hi all, I (M62) have been living in Delfzijl for just over two years. I spent 18 months using Duolingo, which was good for teaching me that i was an apple, giraffe etc but really wasn't any good for actually learning to communicate in Dutch. I know the basics, hello, good morning/afternoon/evening etc and a load of random words. But trying to understand, follow or join in a conversation is still well beyond my capacity. I am facing a few problems with learning Dutch. The first is i have always struggled with languages, I am getting on in life and learning becomes more difficult and finally my brain is like a filing cabinet without drawers, infomation gets filed in no particular order and is then difficult to retrieve when needed. So, what I am looking for is someone who lives reasonably local to me, I'm happy to drive a short distance, who feels they have the ability and patience to teach an old fart like me how to say an old fart like me in Dutch. It goes without saying that I would be willing to discuss compensation for your time.
