Grandpa Died Last Night of Aggressive Leukemia
Post Body

Hello Everyone,

So maybe about a week ago now my grandpa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia. Before then for about a month he had sores in his mouth and throat causing him to stop eating a drinking. The doctor he saw previously refused to admit him and instead just gave him medicine. It wasn't until a month in that my mother and family finally decided to admit him and he was diagnosed after the doctors saw his platelet count. Then after that he decided to go home on hospice since he and the doctors didn't believe that he had the strength to get through chemo. After that is was a decently fast slide down on his condition. He was fine the first night he was back but then just started feeling worse and worse. Eventually he did die. It was last night. What really sucks is that I was not able to be there. I currently live in portland with my wife and he lives in kansas (where we lived originally and grew up). I was very conflicted about flying due to how poor we are and the Virus situation. All I wanted to have was one last conversation with him to tell him how thankful I was for him taking care of me and getting me through college. My grandmother died almost 3 years ago in june so at least he can be with her now. I just feel numb.
