Last week I’d found out my ex-boyfriend/best friend passed away. The breakup was not dramatic, but I unfriended all his family and best friends from social medias mainly to have boundaries almost 2yrs ago. He and I started reconnecting, so I friended him back. Didn’t think to reconnect with the family.
I regret severing the ties but I felt I’d made the best decision for myself when I did. Should I reach out to any of them? Should I just wait for the public posting of his memorial then show up? I am unsure, it’s still very raw, and I feel like half of them don’t care, the other half want nothing to do with me. Granted, his mother did tell his SILs to find a way to notify me (I am not surprised I’m no longer in her phone). So they didn’t want to leave me in the dark, ya know?
What insight can others provide? Thank you for your time and sharing whatever exp/insight that is helpful in this rather weird situation for me.
