I lost my best friend a year ago tomorrow. I took the day off of work, although I’m not sure even what I’ll do. I might lay in bed all day and cry.
She was incredibly kind and loving and extremely funny. She loved The Eagles and Elvis. I dragged her to a Rick Springfield show about 30 years ago - she agreed to go, but she made me pay. She adored cheese. She was so compassionate and non-judgmental, it was really amazing how she just didn’t judge people regardless of the circumstances.
Most of our lives, but especially as we got older, we never missed an opportunity to tell each other how much we loved and appreciated and respected each other. We said it constantly. She left a young daughter, which breaks my heart in two. She was a loyal, beautiful friend to me and I will always be grateful that I had her in my life. I miss her desperately.
