First serious cut and strength loss.
Post Body

22M 5’8/9 82kg start. Bulked from a bad position physique wise 13 weeks ago and started my first real cut to get leaner for the first time in years.

I’m on my first real cut at 1700cals a day and am on my 5th day now. I started Monday at 81.5-82kg and I’m down to 78.5 weighing in this morning.

I go to the gym and hit every muscle group from Monday-Friday and I walk there and back which is 3 miles total. I have Saturday and Sunday as complete rest days.

I am aiming for around 75kg at least by the end of this cut. I plan to do it for 5 weeks. However I am on my 4th workout(gym closed Monday) so far and I am feeling big strength losses. Like I have been trying to progressively overload as I normally would while bulking as I heard you have to train HARDEST during a cut, but I am managing to only make minimal overload progress and usually only managing less reps in my lifts afterwards. I know loss of strength and muscle is expected but should I be majorly concerned? I really don’t want to waste away what foundation I have but at the same time I can’t afford to keep bulking.
