Figured Iād share since thereās so many people on here at various stages of their journeys and might relate (tried to make this as concise as I could).
Height 6ā2
Do you even lift bro? (2012-2013): ~ 165-175lbs. Played a ton of sports in high school, terrible diet, only lifted to supplement athletic performance
The permabulk (2014-2016) ~ 180-210lbs: fumbled an opportunity to play ball overseas n broke up with long time gf in senior year (queue the break ups make bodybuilders story arch). Took a break from sports, started lifting consistently for the first time in my life and bulked like there was no tomorrow. Put on 30lbs in 2 years (muscle or fat, debatable š¤·š½āāļø)
The breakthrough (2017) ~ 225lbs: gained a good amount of training, cycled through enough fad diets and bs gym bro science to know better. Read som books on nutrition, applied the science and finally started seeing the results I wanted. Started training with a few friends who were just starting on their journeys and before I knew it that turned into one of my college side hustles
The reinvention (2018) ~ 212lbs: Tried out for sports at collegiate level and quickly realized being 220 didnāt work for me. Had lost in athletic performance as much as Iād gained in muscle mass. Made the cut but there was much work to be done. Stopped taking supplements of any kind, cut both in weight and bf%. Probably the most āaestheticā physique Iāve had throughout my journey
Function over form (2019) ~ 197lbs: student athlete life in full effect. Cut down way lore than expected but my performance kept improving so didnāt question it. The amount of conditioning I was getting in combined with working with ATs and other exercise science professionals streamlined much of the process. Lightest Iād been since 2015 but ironically also stronger than Iād ever been before (was putting up numbers that rivaled those of my 220 days). Had I more time on my hands would have probably given competitive powerlifting a go
(2021-present): Graduated, donāt have as much time to dedicate to my body as I once did. still play sports here n there so like to stay on the lighter side of the scale. Weight fluctuates between 187 and 200
