Since when does GMG require a scanned copy of my credit card? I tried to buy Farcry 5, I used 3 different cards, neither of which went through. When I asked them about it I got this response;
Unfortunately, your recent order didn’t pass our validation checks and has been cancelled as a result. In order to protect our customers, we routinely take extra security measures to verify the payment information provided with an order.
We need your assistance to verify some details. Please send us a scanned copy of your card used in previous order attempts. This should be the front and back of the card, showing your name and the last 4 digits of the card (the remainder of the card numbers should be blacked out).
Please know that these security measures have been put into place to protect our customers' transactions and are usually a one off process.
We are really sorry about any delays this may cause and we hope you can appreciate the importance we place on protecting our customers.
I had this happen on another site that I don't remember the name of, but out of literally all the sites I buy stuff on this is the second one to ask for my card visually. Seems fishy... Can someone explain this to me? I used 3 cards with my name on them, if I happened to steal a wallet with 3 cards how would showing them a picture of the card which I already have prove anything?
