Hey everyone! I've played the game enough now and got to the point that I don't really have anything to do except for killing natives but that doesn't seem to bring any profit. I wanted to share some thoughts:
I think the AI on the road-map is a much needed improvement and I hope this will affect both human and animals. It is too easy to hunt animals, making the traps totally useless. I think the animals should not walk the same paths all the time, come back to the same spot after few seconds of being scared out and running away much quicker than they do now (something like the lizard which is hard to chase and runs even before I can see it).
Maybe certain nutrition could last longer and affect us in different ways (unless that's already in the game). For example, protein and fats could go down slower but should be hard to obtain with the hunting overhaul. Carbs can affect our energy the most. If we don't have enough carbs, we could never get max energy even after a good sleep. Body temperature could be added and when we're cold, more energy is burned.
There should be more dangerous animals that can actually get you in trouble and they should be more active at night so you really need to build your base cozy and safe so you don't have to worry about killing pumas all the time. Right now I don't really see a point of building more once I have a log bed the medium bamboo shelter and fireplace under a roof. I'm simply walking around the map and build multiple camps in cool locations so I have a place to stay in every area. Animals should come to our camp if they smell meat but not come too close if the fire is going. They could wake us up at night and as long as they're around we would not be able to fall asleep due to stress and we would have to sit in the structure, hoping it's safe enough. That would really add up to the experience if an animal could get really close and try to attack us and we would only find out if the shelter or camp is well built if they were unable to hurt us.
There could be more sneaking on drug dealers actually working on their crops or sneaking into the camp of natives when they leave to hunt animals and there's more to unlock in their camp. Basically I would like to see some things changing after certain amount of days. Let's say after 20 days the drug dealers arrive and there are some new interactions. There could be tribes fighting and we could help one side by setting human traps, attacking from cover, building tree houses to be hard to get.
I have heard that you can unlock more stuff by building a lot of structures but haven't really unlocked anything this way. I had to see things around the map first. I think there should be things that only unlock with experience or experience seeing it in game as just seeing something would not be enough for complicated structures.
I love the sounds in the game and I would like to see more quality sounds of the jungle that would be more alive at times: monkeys screaming, roars, water splashing with alligators, animals hunting other animals. This really makes the game so believable.
Maybe we could dig a hole in the ground to keep our food cold and preserve it longer or use any other survival techniques to do so. Table would be nice to manage some items we can't carry. Currently I just drop it on the ground around the map.
I would also add something that would prevent us from settling at the sites we find (fishing port with places to sleep on or drug houses which are perfectly fine right now to just stay in). Maybe people coming in to those places and we could only sneak in at times to unlock new structures and loot.
Let me know what you think about these ideas.
