Safety Play (and other things that made me sad)
- P. Richards TD on Brice
- This is just inexplicable. There is perfect coverage all over the field and Brice and Alexander play it perfectly. Just look at this screenshot. One inside one outside, that should be an incomplete pass if not an interception
- J. Reed for 15 yds (H. Dix)
- Dix is playing 10 yards off of Reed and is caught flat footed and waiting for Reed to make a move. It's an easy completion but HaHa doesn't let it happen again
- The Very Next Play
- Now watch HaHa move his feet and get in Reed's face. Reed just gives up on the route and it's an easy pick for Dix
- J. Reed for 34 yds (B.Martinez)
- This is on a 3rd and 6. Watch Brice and tell me what in the ever loving fuck he's doing?
- J. Crowder TD (Williams Dix)
- Williams plays the outside and it looks like he thinks he has help to the inside. Watch HaHa's reaction at the end, putting his hands on his helmet and looking more upset than usual. Look at this screenshot from the other camera view prior to the snap. Haha stares him down for a few seconds. He sees the play all the way he just doesn't react.
- DPI on House
- House has never been a speedster but at 6'1" and almost 200lbs he relies on his size to body receivers. Here he grabs on to his man and says, "Fuck it!" I think if he was mic'd up there's a good chance you'd actually hear him say it. He doesn't even attempt to cover
- Watch the Bad Angles and Missed Tackles
- As is tradition
Run Game
- A. Jones for 10 yds / Second Angle
- Look at the vision Jones shows here and look at the killer block from Linsley to create just enough of a lane. The stiff arm and the spin move are also things of beauty
- A. Jones for 8 yds / Second Angle
- Watch the vision from Jones and the nice little cutback that probably gets him an additional 4 yds
Pass Game
- G. Allison TD
- Watch the little hitch Rodgers does (not even a full pump fake) when Geronimo cuts in and that safety might need dentures after biting so hard. The safety leaves Norman trailing Allison and it's just an easy pass
- R. Cobb Incompletion
- This should have been a TD. It's not an easy pass for Rodgers to make but if McCray can hold his block for a second longer or if Linsley sealed McCray's side it's an easy completion to Cobb
- R. Cobb short Completion
- The Packers were running In/Out-n-Ups all game long and the Redskins were scared. Watch how Cobb gets the CB to flip his hips expecting Cobb to run that deep. Just look at how many defenders are around Cobb and he's still wide open
- DPI on D. Adams
- The CB has no choice here. The little hesitation move by Adams at the line of scrimmage then the out and up. Adams was gonna streak past him. Cobb is also open on the other side
Random Thoughts
- Alexander can hang. I think this kid is going to be really good
- House can no longer hang. I'm not sure what his role is
- I don't think the line is communicating as well as they have in previous years. I think part of that is the introduction of McCray. I think they'll gel when it matters
- McCray is definitely the weak spot on the line. I have some clips of him against the bears game that's downright embarrassing but then again that game was just what the fuck
- Spriggs just isn't that strong
- I am excited for everything all of our backs bring to the table but they have this in common: they have vision
- I'm not ready to give up on Brice. He is often a split second too late on decisions or is in position but doesn't make the play. I think you can coach this. How many snaps does he have a safety?
- Haha needs to fucking play. He needs to make plays
- In/Out-n-Ups are my new favorite routes because I had to watch them 3498573498573892 times in this game
- Graham draws a lot of attention
