I am in my mid-twenties and have been a wrestling fan my entire life, my Dad was the person to show me wrestling and it was something I will always be fond looking back on being a Monday night tradition for the two of us to watch Raw. I began watching the product at the tail end of the Attitude era and continued all throughout the Ruthless Aggression era. I began to tune out for a few years during the PG era but was brought back by the amazing run CM Punk had after the infamous Pipebomb promo and ironically when he walked away from WWE as did I for a decade. Of course I would keep up every so often on social media but never tuned back in knowing Vince was still in control. I felt the frustration Punk felt as an audience member watching an out of touch old man wasting talent or holding them down because they werenât âhand pickedâ by Vince. It wasnât until my stepdaughter, who is slightly older than when I began watching, asked me last February/March âHey do you know Rhea Ripley?â I was delightfully surprised by her question and I told her I did and turned out she was watching WWEâs clips on social media. Knowing how much it meant to me watching with my Dad I decided for the both of us to watch Wrestlemania 40 together and we were blown away! (It is now our tradition to watch every PLE and Smackdown together now). Iâve been truly invested ever since then and for me personally I think HHH is absolutely killing and it shows he truly cares about the product and the wrestlers. I donât always agree with maybe storytelling or booming decision, but it is undeniable that he is building up new stars for the next generation and both rosters are stacked full of talented wrestlers who are putting are amazing performances and are able to tell a story their own way with guidance by Paul. The whole product flows so much better not being micromanaged and being able to actually tell a story instead of changing plans for week to week is refreshing. The whole point of this post is I am curious of how many people feel as I do/did about Vince being in control? Donât get me wrong at one point Vince was phenomenal and thatâs why he was able to destroy any competition, but by 2008 it felt as if he ran out of ideas and hit cruise control on creative repeating the same main events over and over.
