Replayability options?

Hi, as someone who's only tried the game for a little while on a friend's account, I jave some questions before jumping the gun and buying the game. I've put countless hours into Stardew Valley and I heard this is a little similar, so my question is whether this has some kind of replayability that SDV has. If you can continue playing after finishing the story and if there's something that will keep you playing on.
