I got a bachelor's in Science - Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Bio. I started grad school as a Horticulture MS, thesis track then because of a lack of funding, had to switch to a non-thesis track (NOT happy about this) in Agriculture and Life Sciences. I was originally planning to do a PhD, but I've been burnt by academia so many times that I'm not sure I want that anymore. Beyond that, it seems like the jobs in this field are more limited than they've been previously. I'm not sure what to do after my master's now. A lot of the jobs seem to require different backgrounds than what I now have, and I had to switch programs so late in the game that I didn't really have a choice unless I wanted to totally re-do another master's (I did not). Any other ecology people out there struggling with career options?
