Title is pretty self-explanatory, but I am trying to see if anyone else is having this issue.

Got approved for the Synchrony/Google Store card and am trying to use it to buy the Pixel 8 Pro. Tried adding it at the checkout screen as a new card, but this does not work. Then, after some poking around Google support articles I find that you are supposed to add it as a payment method in the payments.google.com site. I head over there and find the "Add Google Store Financing card" option.

Great, at long last my problem is solved and I can buy my phone!...

THINK AGAIN! I keep getting an error from the google site saying: Transaction declined: invalid payment method. Learn more [OR-SCCSEH-02]

Contact Google and they say it's a Synchrony problem, contact Synchrony and they say it's a Google problem. Tell them they both are pointing the finger at one another and they both say: "IDK, Try again in 24 hours, it'll work probably"

Has anyone had a similar issue? any suggestions? I just want to order my phone, the case and screen protector are sitting here mocking me.
