Less than a week after I got it my P7Pro took a total shit on me and the touchscreen stopped working. No drops, no spills, just pulled it out of the pocket and it wasn't working (face unlock still was unlocking the phone but I couldn't get past the unlock screen because I couldn't tap). I used the bootloader menu to perform a FR and now I'm just stuck on the welcome screen.
Hit up support and they gave me the option to go to UbreakIfix and pay for a replacement RMA P7P to get refunded later. Neither of these options sit well with me since I don't feel like spending the time to go there (plus my work shifts this entire week start and end outside of their business hours and due to the nature of my job I cannot leave the jobsite, even for lunch) and I also don't feel like I should be paying retail for a replacement of a brand new phone fully knowing the bad customer service practices that Google has so looks like the trusty P5 has still got some work to do. I was considering just doing an RMA and ordering another one but the $300 sale is over.
One last thing I'm considering doing is hitting up their social media and the NYC store when I'm there next week to see if I can be more persuasive in person.
P.S. Customer support rant: they are so inept that the rep was asking me to do pull down logs off the phone immediately after he instructed me to do a FR and fully aware that my touchscreen is not working, I just can't.
