Do you think Pixel phones will ever use variable-focus front facing cameras again?

This feature is something I really miss from my Pixel 3 XL. Do you think Google will ever return to using a variable-focus lens for the front-facing camera instead of the current fixed-focus used in all current models? Would love to know everyone's thoughts/opinions on this choice
