We're heavily invested in a Google. We love their products. We have the nest thermostat, nest hello, nest cameras, many Google displays, etc.
We have three pixels: 2, 3 and 3a xl.
The 2 was having battery problems with maintaining a charge and given its age, we wanted a replacement.
The Pixel 3a sale was going on so the evening of May 28th, we made a purchase from Best Buy.
The phone work fine and we had it charge though the night. It was great to have a phone that kept a charge all day!
Around 6 pm on May 29th, the phone screen goes black. No problem we'll talk to Google support. We troubleshoot with Google support but no luck. The phone is defective.
Google support says, "No worries. Just take it to this repair shop in town".
After taking the phone to a repair shop, Google says, "The phone has cosmetic damage" and won't cover the repair.
What should I do now? Repairing the phone costs $110. Plus the phone is out of warranty. Best Buy wants $45 restocking fee. We're within the 14 day return period.
Would Google be more reasonable if we mailed in for repairs through them?
Any advice?
