Google App Issues

Installed the latest Google app (v9.51.8.21.arm64) on my OG Pixel XL. Since the update, search....well, it won't search. When I type into the search bar, nothing comes up from the 'net, nothing searched on the phone. Another issue is that my Google Now feed won't update. Only fix I've found is to reboot the phone. Gone from booting once a month to 2-3 a day.
Anyone else seen this issue?
