Pixel Stand not charging Pixel 3 XL When Locked

Pretty much as the title says, whenever my Pixel 3 XL is locked the charging from the Stand will turn on and off a few times, before giving up and just displaying an orange light (on the stand). ~~Seems to work fine when the phone is unlocked however.~~ I have an Otterbox case on the phone, but it was mentioned somewhere that the wireless charging would work fine with e case. Anyone else having this problem or possibly know of a solution for this issue?

EDIT: I lied. It's not working fine with the screen unlocked. It does the same thing.
