Hi All,
So this just happened this morning. Been pretty much bed ridden all weekend and my from slipped from my bed onto the floor. The drop is about a foot off the ground.
After the drop I found that the bottom half of the screen was not responsive and there was a black blotch on the bottom right corner of the screen.
My phone is still under warranty and I took it to a local repair center this morning. The tech advised me that the screen is not covered under warranty since the damage seems to be due to a fall. I've also been having intermittent issues with touch screen sensitivity prior to this.
While I understand the warranty shouldn't come from physical damage like a drop. I also find it a little surprising the screen failed after such a small drop. I'm currently using my old oneplus 7 pro until the P8P is fixed. I can guarantee my OP7P has taken way more abuse than a drop from my bed.
Am I SOL and should just eat the repair costs or should I push harder with google warranty?
