NFC not working

All of a sudden my NFC has stop working for Google Wallet and my bank app which can also use NFC. On newer terminals it doesn't seem to register and on old terminals it "flickers" and either says card not read or present one card only. Is this new? Is anyone else having this issue? Is it an software issue?
