Bought my Pixel 8 Pro at launch direct from the Google Store in the UK.
I think I might have a faulty GPU in mine, I've noticed occasional screen glitches like old style analogue static almost in horizonal lines sometimes, but they cant be seen on screen recordings. This is easiest to replicate when I'm looking at Google Photos memories weirdly, and it is zooming in/out on a photo and then the glitches often appear, they don't almost any other time though.
Then a few days ago whilst talking a few photos using the 5x camera on high resolution the phone froze for half a second then just went completely black. Power button, volume did nothing, tried to restart, no vibrations or anything.
After trying for about 10 minutes I was able to get it to boot into recovery, then just boot normally after.
Since then I've had a weird issue once where I had about 13% battery left and i was editing a photo in lightroom mobile and the battery percentage suddenly started counting my down about 1% every 5 seconds, till it got to about 3% and shut off.
I'm feeling something must be wrong with the GPU on my unit.
That being said a good chunk of the time it seems ok.
I'm considering request a repair/replacement under warranty via Google, but don't really have a backup phone at the moment.
Has anyone in the UK got their phone repaired or replaced?
Did they send you a replacement before you sent yours in, or I'm assuming more likely did you have to wait for the new/refurbed device? I was hoping to be able to transfer everything over from this phone to the replacement before sending this off you see.
Just looking to see what other users have experienced.
Thanks for your time and reading my essay, cheers :)
