Spotify issues - pixel 8 pro

There was a similar post for a pixel 7 3 months ago but no resolution under it.
My Spotify stops regularly. Maybe 3 times per song. It's not a Bluetooth issue, as it happens when no device is connected. I am on the latest system update. I uninstalled and reinstalled Spotify, I cleared the cache on Spotify. And it's still happening.
If I can't fix it I need to return the phone. I use Spotify too much. Any ideas?
