Ok so I've been having this issue for months and still Google have not fixed a major oversight.
For the love of God, can someone please explain to me why Google messages does not check whether the recipient is online or offline before sending RCS messages.
If they are offline it should automatically default to SMS.
I don't have WiFi access at work and work with special needs kids. I've run out of data so from time to time when I get an important message I will not even receive it till I get home and connect to WiFi.
Surely this is something Google must have considered.
If there is a legitimate reason fixing this isn't possible then please let me know in the comments and I would really appreciate it.
TL;DR Google messages does not check whether the recipient is online or offline before sending an RCS message. This means important messages will be missed instead of defaulting back to SMS in this situation
