My Questions/Thoughts After Episode 2 (Spoilers)
Post Body

Here is every thought/question I had after watching episode 2. Personally I thought the episode was great, in line with both the first episode and the previous season. Here are all my reactions/questions from the episode, please feel free to comment what you think! By the way there will be spoilers in this, so you have been warned. Also it is in no particular order, just everything I remember thinking about throughout the show. Enjoy!

•I felt that this episode had a LOT of subplots that are obviously going to have to all come together at some point, but it may seem a bit too chaotic when they do (A bit similar to season 2 of Stranger Things, where they had a lot of plots all come together at once which was a lot for the viewer to take in at once, even though I still love Stranger Things).

•I am not positive as to what this season is building up to, which I know it's only the second episode so there is still time, but even after the second episode of season 1 it was clear there was going to be some sort of ending in which the girls needed to find a way to get out of their gang ties. My guess as to what this season is leading to is the trial against Rio, because that would involve so many different people and subplots.

•Can someone explain the metaphor/subplot about the stop sign? I am so confused about it, and it also came up at the beginning of the first episode, and I'm not exactly sure what it represents/what its significance is in the show. I think it has something to do with Beth and Dean's relationship/marriage, but I am not positive.

•This show has a similar feel to the Good Place (with a very different mood obviously), in the sense that it is entirely based off of ethics and an ethical dilemma.

•What is the interaction between Greg and Annie about the piano lessons about? I wasn't paying full attention during that scene (I was texting my friends about the show lol) so I may have missed an important part of the conversation, but it was clear the piano lessons were a metaphor for something, I''m just not sure as to what.

•Stan and Ruby have the strongest marriage of anyone in the show, and it is clear why they are still together through all of this, especially after Ruby's rant (GO OFF RUBY) and when Stan comes back to bed towards the end. He realizes, although very unethical in his mind, that she did in fact do all of those bad things not for her or her friends but for THEIR daughter, and once he comes to terms with that he is a bit closer to being back to the lovable Stan we saw in season 1.

•On the topic of Stan, are we just disregarding the fact that he is still playing a large role in the whole police case of catching the grocery store thieves? I really thought that after the end of season 1 when he finds out that the case was going to be a much larger storyline, and although it was fairly big in the first episode of season 2, it didn't come up at all in this one, which makes it seem like it isn't as important of a subplot.

•In the scene where Dean comes back to work (before he passes out again–side note I thought he was dead there) he not only "shoots" but also uses the word "lit" a couple times (or at least someone said it that's what I remember). They are really trying to get that younger audience entertained, and man did it work on me, an 18 year old boy. Also who else noticed that the Perd from Parks and Rec made an appearance as one of Dean's employees. Love seeing him no matter what.

•I started to like Nancy a lot more in this episode, which was definitely intentional because it was building to her finding out that Annie is "the other girl." I also think that the creators realized that they made her to easily disliked after season 1, so they made a huge plot which makes her look a lot better, or at least makes the viewer feel bad for her. But what was the point of having her invite the snobby instagram "friends" to the party, besides needing an excuse to give Annie a way of stealing $20,000 pretty easily? It felt a bit off from the normal order of the show.

•Annie has a peep hole on her door, right? I get it if she didn't check it the first time, as she was presumably expecting Greg to come over, but the second time the doorbell rings, especially when the one person she really couldn't have come through that door was supposed to be there any second, she probably should've at least checked to make sure it was him then start doing some things to avoid having Nancy find out. My thoughts as to why she didn't check who it was is because Nancy showing up to her house in such a vulnerable state really threw her off her game, and she obviously had a lot on her mind, given what they were discussing.

•Does Rio stalk Beth? Because he seems to know where she is most of the time, especially when it's inconvenient for her or she has a reason to be avoiding him. Also, as a known criminal, he's playing a pretty dangerous game by going out in public with her all these times. Also, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STORYLINE WITH HIS KIDS?!?!?! That seemed to be such an integral part to the development of the relationship between him and the three girls, but it wasn't even referenced today. Does his kid go to the same school as the Boland children, and is that why he is at the school?

•What happened with the gender reveal cake? Is it assumed that Annie did something with it to mess with them, or was it a legitimate mistake by the bakery? Because that small mistake kind of strengthened the entire plot line of the crumbling relationship between Nancy and Greg. Also, I miss Sadie, she needs to be in it more because she is amazing.

•This may be something I just didn't get, but it's assumed that Boomer had the butcher guy beat him up, right? And he did it to push back the trial date because he needed to give the girls more time to pay him? That's what I thought, but please let me know if that's wrong.

•We as viewers assume that Rio did not know that they didn't kill Boomer until he notices the bullet still in the cartridge, but is it possible that he already knew that he wasn't dead? I wouldn't be surprised if he knew they didn't kill him, or better yet, he knew all along they would never have the guts to kill him. I don't know how that benefits him, especially since nearly everything Rio does is just for himself and for nobody else, but it would still be interesting if that were true.

Sorry that was so long, but let me know what you think! Can't wait for episode 3!
