Hey Friends,
If you follow me you've noticed I kinda dropped off and then posted an update in my sub about the current state of things. But if you don't know who I am: Hi! I'm Mari. I'm a 30-something Latina in Texas. Relevant to the current conversation, I've lived in the south my whole life and until he passed 3 years ago, I was married to a black man. These are things that are no secret and have been mentioned here and there in my year in these subs, but I think it's important for the following audios for you to have all that info. So now that we're all on the same page, after some deliberation I decided this incredibly difficult topic was best tackled in 3 audios catered to the listener. They are all just me, curled up on a tear-stained pillow in bed, talking to you. No roleplay, no romance.
You Matter to me [15:11] - Comfort for Black folks
We know, but we don't [12:24] - Comfort and call to action for non-black minorities
Ally reassurance and conversation[30:03] - Comfort in uncomfort for white allies
As I said in the audios, I took a few weeks off from browsing reddit, and so this is my attempt to fill the gap in content that I think our community needs. There are some moments of tears or profanity depending on which one you listen to, but everything is in as calm a voice as I could manage.
Abrazos y lagrimas,
Mari
