The moon is new as pitch & given
enough time, the river will brush out the mountain,
so it is better to start off with sex
than with longing.

This script is the result of last week's tag challenge thread.
I recently watched The Newsroom--great show, btw; definitely should have watched it long ago--and with the dialogue in this script, I was sort of trying to mimic the witty exchanges from that show, perhaps with some Gilmore Girls thrown in as well. There are two characters, one a fulltime teacher and one a substitute. They are friends who have the kind of relationship where they're consistently teasing each other. They have been intimate before, though they're trying to keep their co-workers. I really wanted witty banter and sexual tension in this one.
The title is a pun referring to Emily Dickinson arguably being considered a poet from the later Romantic period, romantic actions, and the characters being romantics in their own ways.
The script starts with the two characters writing notes back and forth. Regina writes a note giving Charlie instructions at the beginning of the day; Charlie writes a note telling Regina how the kids were at the end of the day. The notes should be read in the voice of whoever is writing it. You might want to use some kind of vocal processing or something to let the listener know that they're hearing a note rather than IRL dialogue, but that's probably not necessary.
On the afternoon of the second day, Charlie is in the middle of writing his note when Regina walks through the door, interrupting Charlie's monologue. That's when the "real life" stuff begins.
You can cut the bit with the principal if it's more convenient, but I think it's funny tbh, so I'd prefer if you kept it.
