Post Body

Hi.

So I recently got a 1998 GTI (AGU Engine) and it was running perfectly until the other day where it refused to start but was cranking (had been driven an hour earlier fine but was a really hot day as well). After an hour of waiting, it finally did but randomly died when I was driving it down the down (not even five minutes later). It refused to start for 10 minutes and it drove 20 minutes home no problem. No dash lights on or engine check light.

Did some investigating and noticed my coils and spark plugs were knackered so replaced them, started the car and she went mint for two days (rainy cold days) until we had a really hot day and she died not even 2 minutes down the road, threw an oil pressure warning light. Checked the oil, it seemed fine, she refused to start for an hour. Got her four minutes down the road and she died again (she was stationary when it happened) and she didn’t start for 20 minutes. Got her home fine though.

Now today it wasn’t a particularly hot day, and since i don’t have another car I’ve just driven her to work and she’s fine. I’m thinking it might have to do with the fuel system/line somewhere and maybe heats affecting it somehow as the problem only occurs on really warm, humid days but I have no idea tbh and want to save myself some money by not sending it to a shop (not many vw specialists around). Any help would be appreciated
