2011 Mk6 114k miles can’t check codes due to no accessory mode. Had timing chain/tensioner service, battery, starter, ignition coils, spark plugs, plug wire connectors, and fob batteries replaced within the last year. The last month or so I’ve had an issue where my keyless entry will work but when I get in the car, it will act like my key isn’t inside the cab, so my dash and radio won’t turn on, therefore my car will not start. At this point, I can only think of the ECU or ignition switch (MAYBE KESSY module but the keyless entry works fine??). I’ve tried the relays and had no luck. I have also tried holding my fob up to the push start button with no luck. Can Reddit work some magic? I will update when I find at least SOMETHING.
update: pulled out ignition switch, disconnected and reconnected that and sensor inside, also disconnected negative terminal on battery for a couple minutes and it finally started up but that doesn’t fix my issue
update 2: talked to a buddy at work who owns a shop of his own and he says he could see it being a ground issue or a cam bust(?) issue.
update 3: vw dealership finally answered phone call and they think it could be battery or module. problem here is i’m not wanting to burn another hole in my pocket for yet another issue with this car by taking it to the dealer
