My Oranda goldfish has turned blacker over time is there something wrong?

I got him a little less then 2 months ago through mail he was bright and colorful but today I as I was looking through old photos of him I’ve noticed he looks completely different. It was such a slow change in color I didn’t even notice. Could it be that he’s stressed or there’s poor water quality? Or is it something normal?
