I am coming from owning an Akita for 10 years. She was aloof, loyal, self-sufficient, and more cat-like in her preferences. She was dignified, beautiful, and did not get in the way.
My Goldendoodle drives me absolutely nuts. He’s 8mo old and always rubbing up against me, and just generally not leaving me alone. I don’t enjoy his personality, which may sound harsh, but is true for me.
Am I not a doodle person? I know that I’m the problem here, but I just don’t understand him. He is so social and dumb, that I feel like maybe I just need to look at him differently. It’s like he’s someone I would never hang out with in regular life.
Any suggestions on how to change my attitude about him? This is oddly so hard for me, and I miss having a dignified, aloof dog.
Any comments or thoughts? I am serious, despite how this may sound 😬. He’s a really good boy, and he’s great with my 16mo son, I’m just super frustrated.
