Delivering Christianity from Statism
Post Body

I am a very lay person and probably should brush up on my Greek and Hebrew, but it seems Christianity is pretty libertarian. "My Kingdom is not of this world", "Do not move ancient boundaries", "The people wanted a king" (when God appointed judges over them, "if a man should not work, he should not eat", Mary Magdalene, the mirroring of the law of man vs the law of God in common law vs administrative law, take up your cloak and buy a sword, etc. . Add in revelations as a warning against tyrannical government, and it seems obvious the Bible is very pro-liberty on the whole. I know people can see things different, but it seems in effect many people have made a graven image of the state.

I don't disagree with the Bible and my past lapse of faith was not so much to do with the Bible (there might be a few minor things that made me a bit uncomfortable), but 90% of it was Christian statists. The other 5% of it were with the Bible itself and the other 5% was interpretation and how stupid it made certain denominations look bad (Evangelicals taking ideas from I think it was either Jehovah Witness or Christian Science, I forgot, but why are you taking ideas from "bad denominations"?).

How do you reconcile your faith, your beliefs, and fellowship with people that in theory seem unequally yolked? Are there any denominations that are closer to a Libertarian view of things?
