I have a tourist visa and tried to obtain NIE to open a bank account in Zaragoza, and I was very lucky to magically get the only available appointment, but they straight told me "your appointment is wrong" and told me to go get authorized first at extranjeria and then return to the police station with a new appointment. I tried to argue with them that the appointment was right and I really needed NIE, but they were adamant. Now my lawyer says that authorization is not needed to get NIE. I can't get the authorization cita or another NIE appointment and you all know why, and now I am in a really bad legal situation because of this. Was I scammed at the police station?
