So I wondered what others think is necessary to bring GU to the level where players of similar games would prefer to migrate to the blockchain version of this game. The fact is that the ability to own cards on the blockchain is what makes GU the reason to switch, but let's face facts... This won't happen until a few things are fixed first:
The glitches. I've followed the game for a while now and there has been a lot of improvements, especially since beta. But I still have quite a few games that time out. Sometimes a card can not be added to your hand and it just disappears? The game randomly freezes still (but again a lot less than in beta). Sometimes a card will still be accessible but stuck in the middle of the screen? The glitches are well known and the #1 complaint from new players and I know developers are working on it. But this needs to be fixed soon or else it'll never really gain credibility.
Power usage of the game. The graphics are continually improving, there's no doubt about that but I play on a gaming laptop and on high graphics it sounds like I'm running a blockchain node. It's ridiculous and for whatever reason why so much power goes into running something so simple and personally I didn't see a noticeable difference when I switched the graphics to low but my computer could relax. But a friend I convinced to play the game agreed only to say she couldn't really run it on her tablet which is really what we should expect people to play a game on in 2020, let alone cell phone. My fear is whatever they're doing that requires a full on high powered desktop/laptop is not worth the trade-off they're making with accessibility to more people. I think I remembered this being they're addressing "3 hot minutes away" but that could be a long time.
These are the 2 biggest barriers right now I see to introducing more people to the game. I was wondering what others anyone else might see and what anyone knows about when/how they'll be fixed. I love the game and play it a lot but I can't get more people on board until these things are mostly fixed at least.
