At first I sort of liked the variety the sanctum offered to switch things up, to sort of be a counterbalance to someone's perfectly stacked deck. But it has become clear that the sanctum only truly benefits aggro decks who can score big and early and basically get free cards for it.
Now I feel all I'm playing is against the God of war stacked to just rack up points as fast and early as possible. Before the sanctum one strategy against these decks was to have them run out of cards, even though decks like these can often be the hardest to play against, a good balance deck could hold off the 5 turn onslaught.
Basically, before sanctum aggressive decks were already a difficult opponent because it offered little to no time to set anything up and anyone that didn't have an aggressive deck was backpedaling. But now they've become the preferred way to win nullifying the benefits and fun of dozens of other cards that require more skill and flourish in more complex decks.
I don't blame these people for this strategy but why are we giving out free cards to whoever hits the hardest and fastest? I know I'm not alone with this but I wanted to voice my concern too. While some think it can be fixed I'm of the shared opinion that it's better gone. It adds nothing to a game for anyone who is defensive off the bat while a brilliant array of cards await to be chosen by the aggressive deck players.
