I coach an 8 year old rec team. I played soccer for 100 years but never keeper. In the past I’d have an athletic kid that would serve as keeper and we would rotate. This year I’ve tried several kids and we may as well have an open barn door.

My daughter is good so before the last game I watched a few YouTube videos “10 things keepers should know”. We tried a few reps and it was a drastic improvement just having some direction in teaching. She is good because she’s aggressive, she got stomped hard because 8 yo are morons.

I’m looking for advice on what equipment to buy… I’m hoping to find something around $40 glove wise. (Decent shipping next game is Thursday) Suggestions on a keeper jersey that might see use in hot games in july. I want her to be protected if she’s in there. The amazon ones I bought last year are junk.

Are there any online resources that start at the beginning for training. Assume I know 0 about goalkeeping besides they yell a lot haha. Videos seem to work best, we watch them together and then go drill.
