Post Body

Torrhen Karstark left Karhold at the crack of dawn. He rode a trusty old garron and brought with him 20 men to lead his baggage train and to escort him to Winterfell. He was dressed in layers of tunics and breeches. He was bundled up in furs made out of a bear. The whole party had adopted the warmest clothes possible, Tormund had taught his men how to keep warm when they are on guard duty in the night based on his years in the Free Folk and when he used to go belly first against the Wall. The fashion was a bottom layer of clothing, with furs in the middle and a top layer of chain, cloth or whatever clothes you had to wear. It soon caught on in Karhold and then spread to its outlying villages and towns.

His party rode hard, they would travel from village to inn to hunter's shack. It was impossible for the party to sleep outside in the cold winter weather. It took them 2 solid weeks of riding but they eventually made it to the Seat of House Stark, Winterfell. He left the baggage into the hands of the steward of Winterfell who had sorted out his accommodation whilst he was there. Harrion spoke with the Captain of the Guard who placed his 20 men in the garrison and left the garrison to find Lord Stark, Lord Bolton, Lord Knott and Lady Mormont.
