Mavs fan in the tristate area, wanting to surprise my dad with tickets to the Dec. 23rd game but have never bought tickets before!

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Craigslist is full of sketchy posts and I'm worried about buying there/stubhub an hour before because it takes an hour and a half to get there for us. Any help is greatly appreciated! (the Nets are his second favorite team too)
