I'm new to Gnosticism and find myself here because I seem to be resonating with the little information that has come to be so far by reading this subreddit and engaging in a Gnostic group on Discord. One person I've come across in my search for others who seem to have some understanding and direct experience of things I've been directly experiencing is Gene Hart through his Astral Doorway channel on YouTube. He says he used to attend a Gnostic Church, and I also see that he references a lot of other traditions in his YouTube videos (yoga, kabbalah, hermeticism, etc). He has a Telegram community, and what I hear from them is a lot of the people there seem to really like Samael Aun Weor (SAW). I don't know much about him, I haven't read much beyond a few pages of his stuff so far (I'm not sure I understood what I was supposed to get out of it, either). What I did find was that the Gnostic Discord channel I engaged had a much more wary and cautious attitude towards SAW.
My question isn't really about SAW, but I'm more curious if SAW is being recommended heavily in the communities Gene Hart seems to have set-up, it makes me wonder how much Gene departs from Gosticism not so much in interpretation but more in practice. From what others have told me, SAW had some questionable tendencies that I would like to avoid acquiring.
